Hörnum is located at the southern tip of the island. The “Hörnum Odde” offers a unique outdoor experience, where tidelands and the open sea come together. Spotting seals and porpoises is not a rarity and ships depart daily from the harbour to take visitors to the seal colonies and the islands of Amrum and Föhr, which on a clear day can also be seen from the beach.
With a bit of luck, you might be able to meet “Willi” or “Wilhelmine” at the harbour – the seal that lives right in the harbour and often comes when you call. Here you also have the opportunity to buy crabs directly from the cutter. Gorgeous beaches and fragrant roses all around.
Everything is watched over by the red and white lighthouse, which is definitely worth the climb – to dive into Sylt’s history or to tie the knot in close company. Love with a view.
The apartment is peacefully and centrally located in a newly designed residential street. The harbour, the beach, shops, restaurants and bakeries with the island’s best cakes are only a few minutes away on foot. Feel at home in day to day, cheerful village life, take a stroll through the harbour flea market and cheer on participants at a sailing regatta. If you are underway with children, the vast Oststrand (East Beach) with its shallow sea shelf is a real holiday paradise.
And for those who would like to know more about what they have discovered at the beach or on the tidelands, the Wadden Sea Conservation Station is an exciting destination.
It doesn’t matter from which point of the compass you’ve come – in Sylt’s south the views are always sunny.

The apartment has comfortable, modern and unique furnishings and has been fitted with a low-maintenance caoutchouc floor. The apartment is bright and sunny due to the south-west balcony. The bedroom is equipped with a 180cm wide, modern double bed, a reclining armchair suitable for sleeping on (potentially for one of your children) and a large wardrobe. There are 4 pillows, 4 duvets (2 x down, 2 x synthetic) and a woollen blanket.
The bathroom with shower was renovated in 2004.
In the living room there is a cosy sofa bed, a comfortable wicker chair and a dining table with 4 chairs. The kitchen unit (solid wood) is equipped with a washing machine, a ceramic hob and an oven. Here you will also find an electric kettle, a coffee machine and a toaster.
For families with children there is also a high chair (Tripp Trapp). A travel cot can also be set up on request.
In the basement there is a coin operated washing machine, a dryer and the sauna area.
From the south-west balcony (renovated in 2011) you have a wonderful view of the Hörnum lighthouse. With even the tiniest of ray of sunlight you can sit out here, sheltered from the wind, and enjoy the panorama. The property’s well cared-for garden area can be used by the building’s guests and garden furniture is provided. Our apartment has its own parking space (no. 8) directly next to the building.
The apartment has a wireless internet connection that can be used free of charge. I cannot guarantee that the wireless connection will always work. The living areas have been fitted with an allergy-friendly floor (caoutchouc).
The apartment will not be rented out to guests with pets. Non-smokers are preferred; however, smokers should take future guests into consideration and smoke on the balcony.
The apartment has a wireless internet connection. I will give you the password upon request.
On the day of arrival, the accommodation is available from 15:00.
On the day of departure you must leave the property by 10:00 at the latest.
Rental Prices
All rates apply for max. 2 guests. An added €10,00 per night will be charged for each additional guest.
For short stays of up to 4 nights, a surcharge of 50.00 € will be applied.
